There’s an app for that… I’ve included a few of my favorites below. We are reader supported and may earn a small commission on some (but not all) links within our content to products we think will genuinely help our readers at no extra cost to you. They do have some free classes on their YouTube channel that you can try. Want Some Free Sample Alo Moves Workouts? If you sign up for the monthly membership, you can cancel any time. If you pay for a full year up front, you can save 17% off the $20 per month membership (year-long membership is $199). You can purchase a membership right here along with a 14 day free trial. That said, compared to a lot of the yoga or barre-only platforms out there, like Pure Barre or Core Power, it’s actually a better deal. That’s not a bad price at all, and in fact, it’s cheaper than the cost of a single in-studio yoga or barre class! However, compared to Beachbody on Demand at $8.99 a month, it’s a little pricey. If you’re just interested in the yoga classes, all you need is your mat and maybe a block if you like to use them! How much is Alo Moves and How Do You Sign Up?Īlo is moderately priced at $20 per month. If you’re interested in the strength classes, go for something heavier, like 12 or 15 pounds. If you’re doing barre classes, look for 2 or 3 pound weights. Just a yoga mat and a few sets of weights will do nicely. Very little equipment is needed, which I LOVE. What kind of equipment do you need for Alo Moves? There are advanced classes on the platform, but not as many as the beginner classes. In fact, I’d say it’s geared toward the beginner/intermediate exerciser. This means you can see how many calories you’re burning right on the screen! Alo doesn’t offer that feature, and as someone who is very type A, I kinda dig seeing it. One thing I love about Beachbody on Demand is that the app can read your heart rate monitor. You Can’t Track Your Heart Rate on the App Alo is a little more limited in this regard. Not only does Beachbody have more classes overall, they have more of a range and selection, from Tai Chi to Cardio Dance. They do have some strength training classes, but not as many as Beachbody on Demand. What I don’t Love about Alo Moves Limited styles of Classes Compared to Competition. As someone with ADHD, I get overwhelmed with too many choices, so they make the process SO easy. You can search by style, duration, intensity, difficulty and teacher. They’ve made the library of workouts easy to navigate with a great filtering system. Most workouts don’t have music so you can play your own. Alo Moves has gone to great lengths to ensure there’s a cohesive, simple style and background to all their workouts. This may not seem like a make-or-break quality, but if you’ve ever tried to follow a recorded class on Youtube with bad sound quality and a dim lit room, then you know that this stuff matters. You can also choose your desired intensity, from level 1 through 4 (easy to hard). I love that these classes rage from beginner to advanced. There’s nothing worse than signing up for a class you don’t feel you can confidently complete. You cannot go wrong with this platform if you’re a yogi who likes a wide variety of styles and teachers to choose from. You may recognize some of their popular instructors, like Sri Dharma Mitrra, Ana Forrest, Kristen McGee and Koya Webb (<-a personal favorite of mine). They also have some very big names in yoga who have incredible classes across all genres of yoga, from vinyasa and kundalini to Ashtanga and Pre-natal. Not only do they have a ton of barre workouts that blend strength, cardio and flexibility into one sweaty workout, but they also have one of the most extensive yoga class selection I’ve seen on any workout platform. This platform has a TON of them to choose from, designed for all fitness levels, but there more! Photo Credit, Alo Moves What I love about Alo Moves The Yoga is Top Notch I’ve been experimenting with this platform for a few months now, as I’ve had an obsession with Barre workouts lately. If you’re a fan of working out at home, and particularly fond of either yoga or barre workouts of ALL kinds, then listen up, because this review of Alo Moves is going to be of interest to you.
